UHR's Citizenship Test – Guide and Practice

UHR's mandate

UHR has been commissioned by the government to be responsible for the citizenship test. UHR writes the questions, produces the study material 'Sverige i fokus' (Sweden in Focus) and organises the test sittings.

UHR is the test authority. The Migration Agency decides your citizenship application and refers you to the test — the two authorities have different roles.

How UHR's test is structured

The test is a written test in Swedish with 60 multiple-choice questions and 90 minutes of writing time. The questions come from the 13 knowledge areas in 'Sverige i fokus'.

The areas range from democracy, law and human rights to the labour market, welfare, health, education, the economy, traditions and religion.

Note: the official test itself is held in Swedish, even though you can practise with us in English.

What 'Sverige i fokus' contains

'Sverige i fokus' is the official source for the test content. It describes Swedish society in chapters matching the test's knowledge areas.

Our practice service follows the same structure, so each module here matches one area of UHR's material.

How to practise UHR's content

Read one chapter at a time, then do module training on the same area. Finish with a full mock test of 60 questions in 90 minutes to train your pace.
