Study Plan: 4 Weeks for the Swedish Citizenship Test

How the Plan Works

Set aside 4–5 days per week, approximately 45 minutes per session. Each week concludes with a shorter mock test on Sunday.

The material used is UHR's (the Swedish Council for Higher Education) 'Sverige i fokus' (Sweden in Focus) and the modules on Medborgarprovet.com. You do not need to purchase any additional learning materials.

Week 1 – State, Democracy, and Governance

Mon: Sweden as a Country – read the chapter, practice 15 questions.

Tue: Sweden's Democratic System – read and practice 15 questions.

Wed: How Sweden is Governed – Riksdagen (the Swedish Parliament), Government, Municipalities, and Regions.

Thu: Political Elections and Parties.

Fri: Law and Justice.

Sun: Mock test, 30 mixed questions from the week's topics.

Week 2 – Rights, Media, and Religion

Mon: Human Rights.

Tue: The Role of Media and Source Criticism.

Wed: Secular State and Multi-religious Country.

Thu: Traditions and Holidays.

Fri: Review Week 1 + weak areas.

Sun: Mock test, 30 questions (mix of Week 1 + 2).

Week 3 – Welfare, Work, and History

Mon: The Welfare Society – school, healthcare, social insurance.

Tue: Labor Market and Personal Finance.

Wed: Sweden's Modern History.

Thu: Sweden and the World – EU, UN, Nordic Countries.

Fri: Review 'weak' areas from the Week 2 test.

Sun: Full mock test, 60 questions in 90 minutes.

Week 4 – Revision and Test Practice

Mon: Go through weak areas from the mock test.

Tue: Quick revision Week 1 + 2.

Wed: Quick revision Week 3 + weak areas.

Thu: Full mock test, 60 questions with timing.

Fri: Rest / review notes one last time.

Sat: Rest before test day.

Sun: Test day – arrive rested, eat breakfast, bring ID.
