What do we know about the pass mark?

UHR describes the August 2026 test as a pilot in which the pass mark is set afterwards. UHR has not yet announced the number of questions, duration or pass mark for the next test. No official number or safe percentage can be stated in advance.

Our full practice tests contain 60 questions. We use 45 out of 60 as our own practice target, not as UHR's pass mark. A particular result here cannot guarantee a result on the official test.

How the citizenship test works in practice

UHR develops the citizenship test about Swedish society. The first civics test took place in August 2026. The date and locations of the next test have not been announced; check UHR's FAQ for current information.

UHR says the test is in Swedish, on paper, and uses multiple-choice questions with one correct answer. The number of questions and duration of the next test have not been announced. Our own 60-question practice test is not UHR's official format.

The Swedish Migration Agency decides who may take the test. You can only register if you have received an instruction letter from the Agency. Always check UHR's current registration guidance.

How to interpret your results with us

At Medborgarprovet.com, you can see your total correct answers and a breakdown by topic in our own practice tests. This is feedback on our questions, not an official UHR assessment.

UHR has not published a pass mark or complete scoring rules for the next test. Do not assume that scoring, weighting or topic requirements work the same way as in our exercises.

Compare your own practice results over time and revisit topics where you often make mistakes. Study all areas in UHR's Sverige i fokus, rather than aiming only for a particular number.

13 knowledge areas from Sverige i fokus

UHR's Sverige i fokus material is free and covers 13 knowledge areas about Swedish society. These areas offer a useful structure for your studies, but do not determine the number of questions or pass mark on the next test.

The areas include Swedish geography and modern history, democracy, government, elections, law, human rights, media, religion, international relations, welfare, work and finance, and traditions.

Medborgarprovet.com has a module for each area. You can practise one at a time or take our own mixed practice test. UHR has not announced the format of the next official test.

Set aside time for each area, and spend extra time where your practice results show gaps in understanding.

Strategies for learning from your answers

Read the entire question and every answer option carefully. Words such as 'always', 'never' and 'only' can change the meaning. Review why an answer was wrong.

In our exercises you can eliminate options you know are wrong and then move on. Check UHR's instructions for the official test before deciding how to handle unanswered questions there.

You can set your own time limit for practice, but do not treat 90 minutes as the official duration. UHR has not announced the duration of the next test.
