Self-Sufficiency Requirement

The self-sufficiency requirement means you must be able to support yourself through legal means to meet the requirements for Swedish citizenship.

This can be through employment, self-employment, or other regular income.

The self-sufficiency requirement is part of the new regulations and is assessed by Migrationsverket (the Swedish Migration Agency).

Together with residency, an orderly lifestyle, and knowledge of Swedish society, it is part of the overall assessment.
